Scout knows where the trap answers are.

Sentra Response makes exam-prep apps for iPhone and Android, all taught by Scout. The first one prepares you for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot knowledge test.

Part 107 Remote Pilot is coming to the App Store and Google Play. Free to try, $9.99 for the full course.

What is the maximum altitude for a small UA that is not within 400 feet of a structure?

Answer choices

Pick an answer, then check it. If it's a known trap, I'll say so first.

Part 107 Remote Pilot test prep

The FAA's initial knowledge test for a remote pilot certificate has 60 questions and a two-hour limit, and you need 70% to pass. Every question in the app maps to an item in the FAA's Airman Certification Standards, so your weak spots come back as the same codes your test report uses.

Your route to test day

  1. Learn all five areas

Regulations, operations, airspace, weather, and loading and performance. Sets of 10 questions, starting with the area that needs the most work.

The Today screen. Scout says Regulations is 48% of the test and the weakest area, above a 61% test readiness bar and a score for each of the five areas.
  2. Practice with Scout

Pick a known trap answer and Scout flags it before you check. After you check, he explains the right answer and yours, and cites the rule.

A question on maximum altitude with 400 feet MSL selected. Scout's callout, pinned to that answer, reads: Watch it. Check what that 400 feet is measured from.
  3. Take full practice tests

60 questions in 120 minutes, scored like the real test. No hints until you submit. The report lists the ACS codes you missed.

A practice test report: 78%, passed, 47 of 60 correct in 1 hour 36 minutes, with five ACS codes to review.
  4. Book your test

Your readiness score counts each area by its share of the test. Book the real one when it passes 70%.

The Progress screen: test readiness at 61%, up 23 points in 14 days, with weak spots listed below.

Weighted like the real test

The five areas don't count equally. Practice tests draw questions in the same proportions as the real test, and your readiness score weighs each area by its share.

Scout waving: a cream-and-navy robot with a shield-shaped visor, an orange beacon on his antenna and no legs.

Scout

Scout is the instructor in every Sentra Response app: a sentinel robot with a dot-matrix visor and a beacon on his antenna. He hovers beside each question and watches the answer you pick.

When you pick a known trap, his beacon flashes and he says so before you check. His face changes with the moment, so you can read him before he speaks.

How Scout talks

Short sentences and plain words. Every line carries a fact, a number or the next step, and he stays calm when you're wrong.

After a right answer
Correct. Class G is uncontrolled, so you don't need ATC authorization.
After a wrong answer
That's the FEW layer. A few clouds never form a ceiling.
Before you check a trap answer

On your progress

The app is free to download. Unlocking the full Part 107 course is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It restores on any iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account, or any Android phone signed in to the same Google Account.

More exams, same instructor

Part 107 is the first Sentra Response app. Real estate licensing, bar and police exams come next, each built on its exam's real format and taught by Scout.
